A Sadness

Sometimes, when a sadness
spun by loneliness
comes to the surface
-with no remedy-
it is best to find sleep
and meet a dream
that will wrap its arms around you
and make things alright....

It's funny that we turn to dreams when we get lonely. Dreams help us live in the real world, and ironically make us want to wake up again. I hope you're just saying something that sounded pretty cool, and not feeling "A Sadness."

This is sad. I've found myself doing that when things get hard. I've also found that the root of loneliness can dig so deep that it even spins it's webs in our dreams. When that happens it seems like I am being chased constantly in my slumber and in real life by the thought of no one.

Dreams are not all sleep has to offer. Sometimes, a dreamless sleep, wrapping your mind and heart in oblivion while they attempt to heal, is a gift by itself. Ignorance, especially of lifes pains and ills, is bliss.

@Stephen: Absolutely. Sometimes it's in that dreamless darkness, that rest that our heart is able to pick itself back up again so we can keep going :)

@Corkille: same here, unfortunately. Sometimes things (such as loneliness) are rooted to deep to escape even in sleep.

@Anon: Perfect! I think sometimes it's dreams that give us strength to keep going through our next day (unless they haunt us - then, as I said to Stephen, its just rest that helps us). Somehow most often I find myself staying awake long into the night when I feel this, rather than just letting rest cleanse me.

Thank you guys for your comments! It thrills me to have people involved :)
